The Pembroke Murals

Jeanne and George Lewis have performed an incredible feat - painting a series of murals depicting Pembroke's story on the walls of Pembroke Town Hall.

The murals begin at the beginning when Stone Age man inhabited the caves at Wogan and Catshole on the Pembroke River.

Then we follow the journey through time and follow the fortunes of the Celts, the Romans, the Dark Age invaders through to the Norman invasion when Pembroke Castle first came into being.

The Murals then take us through the centuries - the Middle Ages, Tudors and Stuarts, the Civil War to the twentieth century and finish finally with the Second World War.
